Our Work in Action: Moorings Park at Grey Oaks

The Moorings Park at Grey Oaks project, which included a 64-bed assisted living and dementia building, a 7,208 square-foot Center for Healthy Living, and a 13,422 square-foot clubhouse, entered the preconstruction phase during the ramp-up of a now very active market. Based on our knowledge of the local market, Suffolk understood that concrete could pose a budget challenge.

Our team proposed a structural change from concrete to steel, performed an analysis to confirm our assumptions, and confirmed that steel was a more cost-effective solution. Suffolk proposed the change to the owner and design team, which they accepted and incorporated into the drawings with no impact to the progression of the project’s design.
