Launch Your Career

Start

Suffolk’s Operations Quick Start Certificate Program ensures that new hires in key operations roles have a carefully crafted learning journey starting before their hire date and continuing through their first six months at Suffolk. This program connects dots for new hires between Suffolk standards, expectations and resources, ensures consistency of initial training experience for all new operations hires, and establishes crucial foundations and understanding of how Suffolk operates.

We Are Suffolk is a three-day immersive learning and acculturation experience and part of the onboarding experience for new Suffolk team members. Participants learn more about our core values, history, strategy, and corporate structure, meet with leaders, and network with other operations and functional employees across the company.

Career Start is Suffolk’s two-year rotational program for recent college graduates who are passionate about growing their careers in construction management. The program, which builds Suffolk’s future leaders and accepts an incoming class each July, is made up of a national cohort across each of our regions. Career Starts complete three rotations geared at mastering the fundamentals of estimating, project management and field operations.

Operational Excellence Academy is a six-week onboarding program for new employees in key operations roles, including superintendents, project managers, project executives, project engineers, safety managers, digital delivery and project administrators. The program, taught by Suffolk leaders and experts, provides participants with interactive training, hands-on learning assignments, and role-specific resources to understand Suffolk’s methods of operation.

Accelerate Your Growth

Build

Field Accelerated Superintendent Training (FAST) is designed to upskill field employees’ experience and knowledge to help prepare them to become exceptional builders, faster than the industry standard. This program accelerates their field operations careers by building knowledge and skillsets through mentorship, classroom exercises and field experience. FAST identifies key experience areas that field operations should be able to apply and perform to become an exceptional builder.

The Project Executive Academy is an in-person, operational-focused training to build foundational, technical, business and leadership capabilities for project executives. Participants will establish a comprehensive, skill-based knowledge of “the Suffolk Way” of leading projects across our entire project executive group. This program also helps build a project leader community network and invests in project leaders beyond “just in time” training.

Make Your Mark

Lead

The Management Excellence Academy is an in-person, two-day program for people managers, developing key skills in having important discussions with their team members — including feedback, coaching and difficult conversations. Participants also develop emotional intelligence skills to support all aspects of leadership. This cohort program provides live interactive training, opportunities for self-reflection and practical tools to support these critical discussions.

The Rising Leaders Program is a three-day program that helps high potential employees to grow their leadership skills. The program is for those who are currently leading teams or will be soon. The program includes a Hogan High Potential assessment and covers topics such as effective communication, becoming a leader, delegating tasks, engaging and retaining team members and influencing others.

The Executive Leadership Program is a year-long program that develops the leadership skills of high potential senior level employees. The program covers topics such as enterprise mindset, financial acumen, emotional intelligence and leading the business.

Women in Operations Summits are held on an annual basis in each of Suffolk’s regions, providing opportunities for women in operations to learn, grow and connect with other Suffolk women and leaders. Each summit includes a panel discussion with female executive leadership, a keynote speech from regional leadership, and small group discussions to allow women the opportunity to share their experiences, identify challenges, garner feedback and identify actionable goals.
