New York University (NYU) has selected Suffolk to perform preconstruction and construction management services for the renovation of its School of Global Public Health.
Located adjacent to the eccentric Astor Place, 404 Lafayette/708 Broadway will serve as a high-profile office and academic building for NYU’s College of Global Public Health.
The scope of work includes a complete interior renovation, replacement of all necessary mechanical infrastructure, a complete interior fit-out, new windows, and roof work.
New features include bike storage and showers in the basement level, a new lobby with lounge area, a collaborative student services and admissions office space, and multiple floors for research space.
The first two floors of the building currently house an athletic facility that will remain operational throughout the design and construction phases of the project. To help meet the proposed schedule and avoid disruptions to the athletic facility, Suffolk will utilize laser scanning during preconstruction to facilitate a highly-detailed logistics plan, sequencing, coordination, and execution.
