NYU has appointed Suffolk to provide preconstruction and construction management services for their academic fit-out project at 370 Jay Street located next to their Metrotech campus.
Broken down into three phases, the project consists of a full academic fit-out of a former MTA headquarters built in the 1940s. The new facility occupants will be NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering, Magnet 2.0 (Media and Games Network). It will include shared student and faculty spaces, Clive Davis Music Recording Studios, Motion Capture and Audiovisual Labs, Theater Space & Café, and a Storefront and Lobby renovation. The property is above MTA Jay Street, an active subway station, and has remained occupied throughout construction, requiring special logistical and safety considerations.
