The Los Angeles Trade Tech College Learning Resource Center project consists of the renovation of 87,000 square feet and the addition of 13,000 square feet.
Extensive demolition of the existing Learning Resource Center was followed by the construction of a new façade, roofing, interiors, mechanical and electrical utilities.
Specific improvements include an innovative carbon-fiber seismic wall wrap upgrade (Fibrwrap), gel-injected subterranean waterproofing of the basement concrete structure, a complete metal exterior wall panel façade with aluminum eyebrow entrance canopies and integral perforated sign lettering, and a wall-length electronic display message board.
This project was being built to achieve LEED Silver certification and includes sustainable elements such as a rooftop 350 KVW Photo Voltaic System and 95% construction/demolition waste diversion.
