Suffolk completed the construction of the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel and Hotel Beaux Arts in downtown Miami.
The hotel is linked to a 47-story, Class A office tower, which was completed by Suffolk simultaneously. The towers rise from an 833,883-square-foot podium that houses retail space and the hotel and office lobbies. The project featured 18 levels of parking with 1,400 spaces.
The 41-floor hotel features three restaurants, including db Bistro Moderne, plus two full floors of recreation amenities totaling 50,000 square feet. These include an outdoor swimming pool, a 10,000-square-foot NBA-approved basketball court, virtual golf, a bowling alley, a media room, a billiard room, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a 4,000-square-foot salon and spa.
The Suffolk team successfully met the owner’s budget requirements by working on the project’s methods and materials with key subcontractors. Proper packaging and purchasing of the structural components of the building was integral to meeting the owner’s budget requirements.
