Florida International University Center for Translational Science

    Project Overview

    This 108,000 square-foot facility contains a 10,000 square-foot vivarium, generic and flexible chemistry and biology lab space including 57 fume hoods, and a 1,200-ton chilled water plant.

    The building contains a 120-seat lecture hall/auditorium, faculty club, an atrium in the lobby to allow for collaboration between scientists and other employees, exercise room with locker rooms and shower facilities, state-of-the art conference rooms, and unique views of the surrounding lake. The building is LEED Silver certified and was completed three months early through the use of Building Information Modeling to coordinate MEP systems.
