In this role, Mr. Whalen was responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of the construction process to complete high-quality work on time and within budget. His wealth of industry experience also includes new construction and heavy renovations, affordable housing, healthcare, education, senior living facilities, and high-profile private sectors.

Suffolk’s hiring of Mr. Whalen in New York demonstrates the organization’s strong momentum, significant gains in market share, and promising future in New York. Suffolk’s New York operation is responsible for highly visible building construction projects including “The Quay” at Brooklyn Bridge Park, 14th @ Irving, Summit NYC at 222 East 44th Street, multiple projects for New York University, and Hudson Exchange West in Jersey City, among other notable projects.
“We remain committed and focused on continuing to solidify our presence in the New York region. An important part of that strategy is to penetrate newer markets, introduce our innovative approach to new clients, and diversify our portfolio by expanding into resilient sectors such as healthcare and life sciences. Joseph’s vast technical knowledge and deep industry relationships in these key sectors will be essential to helping us achieve our ambitious goals for New York and beyond.”
