In Suffolk’s summer internship program, current college students spend three months working alongside the best in the business. Interns have a firsthand view into the Suffolk culture and gain hands-on experience in the construction management industry. With opportunities in the field, project management, and functional departments, the program’s goal is help young professionals discover if construction is the right career path for them. Networking opportunities, professional development workshops, volunteer opportunities, and team events round out this summer experience.
The Career Start program attracts passionate and dynamic college graduates to participate in a structured rotational experience. Over a two-year period, Career Starts gain knowledge in estimating, project management, and superintendent roles, and then ultimately match their skills and interests with career opportunities at Suffolk. Complete with professional development opportunities and a strong peer cohort, the Career Start program is key to building our future bench.
This immersive learning and acculturation program is part of the onboarding experience for all new employees. We Are Suffolk connects new employees and builds engagement through presentations and interactions with leadership.. Over three days, participants learn more about Suffolk’s values, history, and strategy, tour current job sites, and spend time in the community and with each other.
This 12-week, nomination-based program identifies top Suffolk talent who demonstrate the ability and eagerness to take on a manager role. The program focuses on both technical and professional skills. Participants learn about Suffolk’s business model and receive training and mentoring from senior leadership, as well as faculty from Harvard Business School.
This three-day program—with ongoing learning—teaches techniques to help employees become more effective leaders. Managers that are new to Suffolk or recently promoted into supervisory roles learn critical skills like coaching, difficult conversations, delegation, and managing and motivating diverse teams.
This 12-week, nomination-based program prepares middle managers who have executive potential for future leadership positions at Suffolk. The Leadership Accelerator Series aligns these future leaders to our business strategy and teaches advanced leadership skills. A key component of the program is the "Action Learning Project," where teams develop a set of recommendations on how Suffolk should address real business issues to drive the company’s strategy and growth.
