Our entire safety methodology is defined by real people and real relationships. Because we know that in the end, when you can identify with someone’s personal life story you will do everything in your power to make sure that individual makes it home safely at the end of the workday.
Studies have shown that construction workers are more productive and efficient when they feel safer on a project site. The innovative Lightweight Protection System (LPS) or “cocoon” installed on Suffolk’s 60-story Millennium Tower project in Boston was an important factor in our innovative safety approach on that project. The LPS envelops large exterior sections of the building to ensure that workers, tools and equipment do not fall over the side during construction. The LPS is slotted into a rail system that allows the massive panels to rise with the increasing height of the building as floors are added during construction. The mesh design also allows natural light to illuminate work areas while protecting workers from the elements. Our personal approach to safety combined with our commitment to the latest innovations help our team members feel safer because they are safer. And you just cannot put a price on peace of mind.
The culture of the job is really good. Everybody is on board with safety. We all have families and kids so we all want to go home safely at the end of the day. We all take care of each other. We're like a real strong family over here. We have a good atmosphere on this job. It’s probably one of the best jobs I've been on in 30 years.”

I feel like among all the trades and the general, we have a great communication where we know what each other is doing and know where each other is at all times. And they have my back and I have theirs."

We have a real partnership with Suffolk in terms of safety. Suffolk works with us. They point out things that can be improved so we can correct them right away as a team. This is what a partnership should be about. It's everybody’s responsibility to make sure the job is done properly and safely so everybody goes home every afternoon."
