Suffolk completed preconstruction and construction management services for this project in Somerville, Massachusetts. The transit-oriented development is directly adjacent to the MBTA Orange Line and serviced by the Assembly Station T stop. The project consists of a new 900,000 square-foot commercial office building and a 2,100 space above-ground garage, which is located on approximately nine acres at the southern end of the Assembly Row development. In addition the project features two levels of pedestrian accessible retail.
The new offices consolidate and house about 4,500 employees and feature significant green building and resiliency features to meet LEED v4 Gold certification standards. This includes a large photovoltaic array atop the garage, which provides 30 percent of the building’s electricity.
