Our team managed the gut rehab of this historic 1930s building in Boston’s Post Office Square. Work on the 22-story steel frame building included demolition and abatement of lead, asbestos, PCBs, and mercury; shell and tenant fit-up; new MEP systems; modernization of elevators; and the complete restoration of historic courtrooms, library, corridors, stairways, and fixtures. The rehabilitation preserved the defining Art Deco features including the decorative plaster ceiling, terrazzo floors with marble inlay, decorative bronze fretwork and grilles, and the exterior granite and limestone façade.
