What is the most exciting thing about working in this business? What is your professional passion?
The most exciting aspect of working in this business and at Suffolk is the daily interaction with diverse people. On any given day, we are interacting with hundreds of different stakeholders, which makes our work fresh, dynamic and full of new challenges and potential solutions. My professional passion is building collaborative teams and being a part of a cohesive group of people who trust each other and work toward a common goal. There is nothing better than the peace of mind and pride that comes with being a part of a high-functioning team that relies on contributions from everyone involved.

What do you love to do when you aren’t at work? What is your personal passion and why?
My wife and I are passionate about animal rescues, specifically dogs. We currently have three rescue dogs of our own and we’re part of a foster network that takes in dogs that have been mistreated or are at risk of being euthanized. When we can get away on vacation, we love outdoor activities especially in the National Parks. Last year we did several mountain hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park and Shenandoah National Park, and this year we are heading to the Sedona, AZ area to do some backpacking and biking.

What is your favorite quote?
“Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you react to it.”

What book has helped you most in your career?
“Same Kind of Different as Me” by Ron Hall and Denver Moore

If you could have lunch with someone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
It would be with both my grandfathers. We lost both of them before I was an adult, so I would just love to spend some time with them and get to know more about them. Both of them led fascinating lives, leading and raising big families as first and second generation Americans. Everyone who knew them had so much admiration for them so I would love to see for myself why they were so well respected by others.
