What is the most exciting thing about working in this business? What is your professional passion?
Standing on an undeveloped piece of land, knowing that in a year or two you will be sitting in the lobby of an incredible building that you were a part of is an extraordinary and humbling thing.  In this business, no two days are ever the same and while it may seem that much of what we do is routine, every project is unique, and the challenges always require creative and sometimes unconventional solutions.  I challenge myself daily: what can I learn today, who should I meet with, and how will I encourage and motivate our managers to do the same?  Strong teams, helping with career development and fostering a collaborative environment are things I thrive on.

What do you love to do when you aren’t at work? What is your personal passion and why?
My wife, Kelley and I are avid gardeners and home renovators.  We are fortunate to live in a mild climate where we grow our own vegetables and plan meals around what is in season.  Being outside is a great way to recharge and feel connected as a family and to our community.

What was your favorite family experience?
Living near the water has been amazing for our family. We fish, swim, surf and spend as much time together as we can near the beach.  Where ever we travel we always seem to end up on a beach somewhere. And that’s no coincidence!

What is your favorite app and why?
The amount of information sharing available has made difficult decisions easier and definitely quicker.  My favorite application is OneNote.  In addition to being a huge time saver, it links information to all of my mobile devices, eliminates paper and organizes notes and folders so I’m never without what I need, no matter where we are conducting business.

What is your favorite quote?
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” — Winston Churchill
