What is the most exciting thing about working in this business?
Suffolk is a great company delivering tremendous value to clients, yet the company is not resting on its laurels. Everyone recognizes the world is changing fast around us and there is still so much opportunity in our industry to improve safety, quality, productivity, and overall satisfaction throughout the construction process. Being part of these efforts is both exciting and intellectually challenging; and working with a group of smart, committed professionals makes coming to work each day a joy.
What is your professional passion?
I like to tackle complicated challenges by breaking the issues into manageable pieces and looking to bring experiences from other industries to bear on the solutions.
What do you love to do when you aren’t at work? What is your personal passion and why?
My family is the most important thing in my life. I have the most wonderful wife of 30+ years plus three terrifically talented daughters who bring joy and balance to my life. My outside interests revolve around spending time with them doing anything/everything from theater, to shopping, to home improvements, and beyond. When I do have downtime, I enjoy woodworking, exercising, and reading.
What is your favorite community cause or philanthropic organization to support and why?
Despite the Greater Boston area being a wonderful place to live and work, there are still a number of people who are struggling with financial pressures, in need of affordable housing, requiring family-oriented support, and needing assistance with mental health issues. There are a number of wonderful programs in Boston bringing various forms of education and assistance such as South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation (where my wife is executive director), Julie’s Family Learning, Fourth Church, Medicine Wheel, and Community Servings.
What is your favorite quote?
