What is your personal passion and why?
I enjoyed coaching my children when they were young. Now that they’re grown up, I enjoy watching them excel at the sports they are most passionate about. My daughter is an equestrian and my son is a runner. I love watching them grow and succeed in everything they do.
What is your favorite community cause or philanthropic organization to support and why?
My wife is the founder and executive director of Access Equestrian, a therapeutic riding center for children with developmental disabilities. I spend time volunteering at the center and helping her grow the business.
What innovation have you seen in the construction industry that has made the most impact? Where do you see the opportunity for further innovation?
Using Lean principles to build more efficiently. There is a tremendous opportunity to enhance the Lean mindset and culture in this industry and change the way we build buildings, and that’s exciting.
What sport did you play and how did it help you professionally?
I ran track in high school and college. It was a lot of work balancing the engineering curriculum and collegiate track but it taught me the importance of discipline, commitment and time management when balancing work and life.
