The Suffolk benefits plan is designed to give you the flexibility to "customize" a benefits program that meets your needs (and the needs of your family). Each year, you have the opportunity to change your coverage in response to new life events and your family’s changing needs.
You have a selection of three plans from Blue Cross Blue Shield: HRA High Plan; HRA Low Plan; and the Health Savings Plan. Each option offers 100% Preventive coverage without the need to select a primary care physician and self-referral to specialists. You receive a Personal Spending Account which is used to pay deductibles, co-insurance and co-payments. The employer contribution to these accounts varies based on the plan and your level of coverage (employee only, employee + 1 dependent, or family). Participants are also eligible for fitness/gym reimbursement and weight loss program reimbursements.
Prescription Drug Coverage
When you enroll in medical coverage, you also receive prescription drug coverage. The Prescription plan offers both retail and mail order drug coverage for a co-payment based on drug designation (generic, preferred brand and non-preferred brand). An out-of-pocket drug maximum limits the amount that you must spend in drug co-pay expenses each year.
Dental Coverage is provided through Delta Dental which offers Preventive, Major and Basic Dental coverage. Major Dental includes 50% coverage for orthodontia, up to a $1,500 lifetime maximum. You may choose your level of coverage (employee only, employee + 1 dependent or family).
Vision coverage is provided through VSP, which offers coverage for a comprehensive eye examination and allowance for eyeglasses or contact lenses. You may choose your level of coverage: employee only, employee + 1 dependent or family.
Flexible Spending Account
You can also choose to enroll in a Health Care and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA). These accounts save you tax dollars and reduce your out-of-pocket costs for health and dependent care expenses.
You can participate in the Commuter Plan to save tax dollars on your public transit and parking fees.
You can participate in the Retirement Savings Plan through Fidelity Investments on a pre-tax basis or enroll in the Roth option. Both savings options are matched by Suffolk.

Suffolk offers comprehensive training and a clear career path for employees at every stage of their careers.
Career Start: Our Career Start Program rotates new employees through Suffolk's main operational areas over a two-year period so that they gain a complete understanding of the daily responsibilities of each team member and department. The program offers our new employees a distinct advantage, helping them understand how all the pieces come together to create a successful and profitable construction project. Ultimately, participants match their skill sets with specific roles in the construction process, helping them choose and pursue the positions that will advance their careers and our company.
Career Core: The Career Core curriculum is divided by Operations (technical) content and Professional (non-technical) courses. The Operations curriculum focuses on how the Suffolk operations work and add value. The Professional curriculum trains employees on key skills that will help employees grow their careers.
Career Plus: Career Plus courses enhance employees as Suffolk employees, professionals, individuals and members of the community. Courses include topics such as communication, business writing and even CPR/First Aid.
Career Lead: Career Lead courses are geared towards Suffolk employees who have demonstrated a proficiency and desire to lead teams and lead Suffolk into the future. Course work consists of the Leadership Accelerator Series and individual courses or programs dedicated to the next generation of Suffolk leaders.
