What is the most exciting thing about working in this business? What is your professional passion?
I love working with our people because they’re such a talented and intelligent team. I really enjoy pushing the envelope with them every day and working together to bring “build smart” to life.
What is your favorite community cause or philanthropic organization to support and why?
The Giving Circle is one of my favorite causes because it helps support Suffolk employees and friends in need. The other cause that is closest to my heart is The Travis Roy Foundation. Travis Roy was my best friend from high school who suffered a devastating spinal cord injury within the first 11 seconds of playing in his first college hockey game at Boston University. The Travis Roy Foundation supports people who have suffered similar spinal cord injuries.
What sport did you play and how did it help you professionally?
I wrestled, played football and was on the track-and-field team. These sports helped me develop teamwork skills and taught me how to work well with others. Sports taught me to rely on your teammates and trust others, and to always improve and push yourself to the next level. This mindset helped me both personally and professionally.
What is your favorite quote?
“The 1st period is won by the best technician. The 2nd period is won by the kid in the best shape. The 3rd period is won by the kid with the biggest heart.” – Dan Gable
