Alex Hall

What is the most exciting thing about working in this business?
Construction is an incredibly dynamic business environment. Watching Suffolk manage the rate of change that faces us each and every day is impressive and quite amazing. Professionally, I am passionate about delivering excellence and delivering a product and results that are better than ever before and that exceed expectations.

What is your favorite community cause or philanthropic organization to support and why?
4-H is fantastic. Besides the organization’s awesome values, the program is structured in a way that genuinely empowers young people with meaningful skills for life that are transferable to most working environments.

Where do you see the opportunity for further innovation?
Carbon Dioxide consumption and developing the carbon economy. The construction industry is one of the greatest consumers of CO2-producing material in the world. New developments in COs-consuming techniques, such as the projects we are involved it at UCLA (http://www.co2upcycling.com/), will transform building materials and construction industries for future generations.

What sport did you play and how did it help you professionally?
Rugby. My most valuable lesson from playing rugby was that you can’t achieve anything without helping and supporting one another. I also enjoyed being involved in fierce competition and then afterwards reflecting on the performance, good or bad, and learning something new from it.

If you could have lunch with someone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
I would have lunch with comedian Richard Pryor and my Dad. I would end up laughing so hard I would cry.
