What is the most exciting thing about working in this business? What is your professional passion?

The most exciting thing about working in this business is the teamwork that is required from start to finish on a project. Collaboration, execution, trust, teamwork, honesty and professionalism are required. My professional passion is to train, coach and mentor our younger generation in this business so they can succeed.

What do you love to do when you aren’t at work? What is your personal passion and why?

I love to travel, cook, and be with my girlfriend and children. I also have a huge passion for fitness and exercise. It helps me relieve stress and get prepared for the day. I believe being healthy helps your mental outlook in life and in business.

What is your favorite community cause or philanthropic organization to support and why?

I was previously on the board for Back On My Feet, a nonprofit that helps homeless individuals by showing them how exercise can create a healthy lifestyle, which then eventually fosters a potential job. I feel blessed to the live the life I have had, and I want to help the people that are not as fortunate as I have been.

What was your favorite family experience?

I come from an Italian family where family, eating and enjoying life was paramount. We used to have big family Sunday dinners with my grandparents. I will never forget those memories.

Who is/was your favorite person you ever worked with and why?

My first project out of college was a wastewater treatment plant in San Francisco. I was a concrete and mechanical engineer and my duties included detailing, scheduling, productivity measuring and quantities. My superintendent always told me two things that I will remember forever: never let me tell you to do something twice, and attack your job on a daily basis by being proactive.

What sport did you play and how did it help you professionally?

I grew up playing basketball and baseball through high school. My first love is basketball because of the fast pace, ball movement, teamwork and grit that is required for success. To me, sports mirror business: you need talent, teamwork, strategy and hard work in both. Basketball taught me to be prepared for business in all of those categories.
