What is the most exciting thing about working in this business? What is your professional passion?

Every business challenge has a people and/or talent piece to it, so it’s exciting to discover solutions to those challenges by either identifying and developing internal talent or attracting external talent with the right attitude, experience, and skillsets necessary to succeed.

What is your professional passion?

My professional passion is to build environments and cultures where people truly believe and feel that their efforts/contributions matter to the company’s success and, as a result, they become very invested in the company.

What do you love to do when you aren’t at work? What is your personal passion and why?

I’m actually pretty boring outside of work. My favorite moments are the quiet times I spend with my wife of 31 years, Joan, our two children and of course, our two dogs.

What is your favorite community cause or philanthropic organization to support and why?

I’m passionate about supporting causes dedicated to helping disadvantaged youth in urban areas. While I was living in Chicago, I had the opportunity to work with an organization that helped inner-city high school students get internships by providing interview training and seminars outlining how to dress for a job. It was impactful to serve as an additional support system for those children.

What is your favorite app and why?

My favorite app is Glassdoor. I know it sounds like an easy answer, but I really love it. I look at it as type of truth serum. To have a platform where you can get actual employee reviews and hear directly from the source if what you are doing as an HR leader is actually resonating…that’s really all you want.
