What is the most exciting thing about working in this business? What is your professional passion?

The most exciting thing about this business is the people. I enjoy building relationships and helping people grow personally and professionally by coaching, mentoring and influencing them on a daily basis. As a leader, I’m also passionate about encouraging my team members to achieve the next level of their careers by understanding their personal and professional goals and ensuring they are meeting them.

What is your favorite community cause or philanthropic organization to support and why?

My favorite community cause is the Dallas Warriors Ice Hockey Club, which was created to give our Disabled U.S. Military Veterans a way to rehabilitate by using ice hockey as an outlet. The Warriors provide an invaluable service to all military branches and maintain a strong relationship with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and USA Hockey who continue to support the organization’s efforts as it continues to grow.

What sport did you play and how did it help you professionally?

I played many sports growing up. Through sports, I was able to develop teamwork skills and learn how to work with others. Sports also taught me to trust and rely on my teammates, and to always to push them and myself to become better, stronger and faster. The lessons I learned on the field, in the gym and on the ice helped me both personally and professionally, and taught me to always go the extra mile and be the best I can be every day.

What do you love to do when you aren’t at work? What is your personal passion and why?

My wife Patti and I have three boys, ages 7, 10 and 12. Coaching and watching them play ice hockey, supporting them in their studies, and teaching them to grow into “southern gentlemen” is our passion.

Who was your mentor/biggest influence and what did they teach you?

My parents were a significant influence on my life. They taught me the importance of responsibility, work ethic, old fashion values and morals, and commitment to excellence. They also taught me to dedicate myself to worthy causes and to never quit. These are the values I continue to live by today. Lastly and most importantly, I would not be where I am today without Patti, my wife of 31 years. She is the backbone and foundation of our family, and the wind in my sails.

What is your favorite quote?
